Arizona made the most of its bye week sending its coaching staff all over the country to check in on commits, targets and potential targets in the current and upcoming classes. One stop the Wildcats made was to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to see San Pedro take on Banning.
Playing on the line for San Pedro was one-time Nevada commit Nick Ford who Arizona has been keeping tabs on this season. UA offensive line coach Jim Michalczik was able to finally get a glimpse of the two-way standout and Sunday evening the Wildcats came to the decision to make an offer.
It was offer No. 12 for the 2017 prospect and it was one he happily added to his growing list.
"I honestly think very highly of Arizona," he said Sunday night. "I know it's a really good well-rounded program and it has availability student wise because I'm also interested in academics. I feel like that may be one place I fit."
Ford said visits will likely have to take place after his season, but for now he's happy with his Pac-12 offer.
BYU, New Mexico, San Diego State and UNLV are some of the other schools that have already offered Ford as well. The senior has used one of his official visits already.
As of now Ford said he is being recruited as an offensive tackle, but the UA staff informed him they will continue evaluating him as a defensive lineman as well.
