Arizona bringing in talented walk-on class
On Tuesday morning, newcomers are scheduled to report to the Arizona Football offices. On top of the majority of the Wildcats' 2007 recruiting class, the coaching staff is expected to welcome several talented walk-ons.

One of the most well known names will be Avory Battle, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back/defensive back from Phoenix Desert Vista. Avory is the older brother of UA 2008 wide receiver recruit Allante Battle.
The elder Battle was expected to have a big senior season after rushing 76 times for 270 yards on offense, while totaling 59 tackles on defense as a junior.
In his first two games as a senior, Battle rushed the ball 14 times for 66 yards, while catching three passes for 32 yards. He had one touchdown and two two-point conversions on offense, as well as 11 tackles on defense.
However, Battle injured his foot in the first quarter of his third game, forcing him to sit out the rest of his senior season. He was expected to walk-on at Arizona State, but recently changed plans and will play for the Wildcats in 2007.
Expected to show up on Tuesday will be C.J. Sedoris, who is a pretty impressive prospect considering the UA is getting him as a walk-on. Sedoris, a 6-foot-2, 182-pound quarterback from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman, was originally a member of the 2006 class.
After an official visit to Colorado State, Sedoris committed to the Rams. However, after the CSU staff notified him of another QB committing in his class, he decommitted to look at his other options.
Following a senior season in which Sedoris led Bishop Gorman to a 10-2 record, he decided to enroll at Division II University of Central Oklahoma, where he redshirted in 2006.
Sedoris, who was first-team all-conference as a senior at Bishop Gorman, is an ex-teammate of future Wildcat running back Keola Antolin.
Kyle Monson is a 6-foot-2, 199-pound defensive back from Saugus (Calif.), who accumulated 88 tackles, two interceptions, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and a field goal block as a senior in 2007.
He also played wide receiver, where he caught 48 passes for 777 yards and eight touchdowns. As a punt returner, he ran 23 balls back for 191 yards with a long of 57, while he ran 17 kickoff returns for 428 yards, with a long of 91.
Monson was the Foothills League's leading receiver in 2006. In 2007, he was named to the all-CIF team as a defensive back.
After totaling 129 tackles, six sacks and two fumbles as a senior at Chandler Hamilton, linebacker Matt Sanford was named first-team 5A all-state and first-team all-region. The 6-foot-0, 215-pound athlete will walk on to Arizona in 2007, and will play with future Wildcat and ex-Hamilton teammate Gerell Robinson in 2008.
He played quarterback, wide receiver, tight end, cornerback, free and strong safety and punter at New Orleans St. Augustine, but 6-foot-0, 180-pound Tahlako Williams will begin at Arizona at wide out.
As a senior, he ran for 492 yards and three touchdowns, totaled 1,012 yards and three touchdowns in the air and as a wide receiver caught 10 balls for 145 yards. On defense, he had 26 tackles and as a punter, he averaged 33 yards per kick. He also averaged 27 yards per kickoff return.
6-foot-4, 200-pound Santa Margarita defensive end Matt Browning had an impressive senior season, registering 60 tackles and 6.5 sacks. The first-team all league selection will play for the Wildcats this season.
The UA traveled to Texas to pick up Jaryd Hickman of San Antonio MacArthur. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound defensive end was named all-district as a senior, as well as academic all-state.
Arizona will add Kyl Randolph, a 5-foot-11, 160-pound wide receiver from Greenwood Village (Colo.) Cherry Creek. Randolph made second team all-league at defensive back as a senior.
Sean Tilton, a 6-foot-0, 250-pound defensive tackle from Catalina Foothills in Tucson will also join the UA. He totaled 51 tackles as a senior.
Arizona will also add 6-foot-0, 185-pound wide receiver Hayden Hall of University High School in Tucson, 6-foot-6, 260-pound San Jose Dominguez offensive lineman Jeremy Roston and Shawn Trowbridge, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound wide receiver from Moorpark College who will also contribute at long snapper.
