Through six games at the Peach Jam in North Augusta, South Carolina, Arizona commit Nic Wise is playing some of his best ball of the summer. Wise, not known for his scoring, is averaging 18.8 points per game, largely because of the 48.5% he's shooting from behind the arc.

Wise and his Houston Hoops AAU team are 5-1 going into Friday morning's semifinal game against the SYF Players. In Thursday's quarterfinal game, Wise scored 31 points, 24 of which came in the first half. The game before that, Wise put up 23 points.
Greg Wise, Nic's head coach and father, has been happy with how his son has played so far.
"He just took over tonight," Greg said. "When he wasn't scoring, he was getting lay-ups for everyone else. The other team tried to trap him but it wouldn't work."
Nic had a decent Nike Tournament and played very well at the NBA Players Association camp. However, there were a few camps earlier in the summer where he struggled.
According to Greg, there might be a little bit of a difference in attitude.
"I think in these tournaments, Nic wants to prove that he's better than some of these other guys," Greg said. "I've been talking to him about it and he wants to show everyone that he's as good as people first thought he was."
According to one of our sources in attendance, "Nic is as good of a passer and ball handler as there is in the country. He's been unbelievable here."
GOAZCATS.com will have an update on Nic Wise and the Houston Hoops on Friday.
