Adams, 21, was arrested early Sunday morning after he was pulled over for speeding, according to police.
Police said they noticed signs and symptoms of intoxication and gave Adams a breathalyzer test.
His blood-alcohol level was 0.124 the first time and 0.121 the second, said Sgt. Decio Hopffer, a spokesman for Tucson police.
The legal limit in Arizona is .08.
Adams was released at the scene to a passenger who was in the vehicle with him.
The basketball player was arrested by Tucson police in December on charges of disorderly conduct, Hopffer said.
University officials declined to comment on Sunday's incident.
"We're aware of the situation with Hassan Adams," wrote Jim Livengood, athletics director, in a press release. "I've spoken [with] head coach Lute Olson and we've decided to delay any further comment, or provide any reaction, until Monday."
