Arizona fans are starting to become familiar with 2017 commit Jalen Harris after his pledge earlier this summer to the 'Cats. The Mesa-Desert Ridge standout has a last name that many UA fans know well as his father, Sean, was part of the most famous defense in school history.

But while Wildcats' fans know all about Sean and are learning about Jalen, there is another member of the Harris family that UA fans should start to get to know — along with maybe a few other fan bases too.

Jason Harris is just a freshman at Desert Ridge, but already with great height at 6-foot-7 the 2020 recruit is starting to make a name for himself just a couple games into his high school career. The freshman picked up a sack against his dad's alma mater, Tucson High, last week in a win for Desert Ridge and he continues to impress as his high school career gets going.

"I'm just trying to show my speed off the edge and how I use my hands," Harris said. "But I'm still trying to get better as a football player. I still have a lot of things to work on and get better at."

Harris said there are still plenty of things he wants to improve even this season including improving his ability to get off the ball and utilize his speed off the edge even more. To do that he has a convenient example with his brother often lining up on the other side of the line for Desert Ridge.

"I've learned a lot, and I think it's amazing how far he's come," the younger Harris said of his older brother. "He's put in a lot of work, and it's not a surprise to me because he's worked so, so hard. After practice, before practice he's putting a lot of work into his craft."

Jalen also thinks quite highly of his younger brother too and his potential in the coming years.

"He's young but he's a really good player," the UA commit said of his younger brother. "I like having him around. ... He has a really high motor and nobody is going to be able to handle him. If he doesn't make a play he's going to chase it down and do whatever it takes."
