Green excited about Arizona offer that took time to materialize
Senior film can change a lot. Los Angeles High defensive tackle Chris Green is finding that out first hand right now. The 2017 recruit thought he was headed for an offer from Arizona way back early after National Signing Day when Arizona invited him out for a trip and started to turn its focus to the current class.
Interest coming in that early in the cycle from defensive line coach Vince Amey HAD to turn into an offer, right? Well, no.
The Wildcats went in some other directions, but it's funny how recruiting works out. Green never completely lost contact with Amey or the Wildcats and last week it turned into an offer he has been waiting on since about February.
UA joined Hawaii and Nevada on his offer list and he is plenty happy for his latest one.
"I've always had a relationship with coach Amey and I had kind of a slow junior year at Mater Dei (Santa Ana, California)," Green said. "Then I transferred to LA High and I think my film was way better. So I think the change in my ability led to me getting the offer."
