Tracy McDannald, Senior Editor
Tracy McDannald is the Senior Editor at GOAZCATS.com. He joined the staff in August 2011.
McDannald attended Long Beach State, off and on, from 2008 to 2011. He served a variety of roles for the campus' student-run newspaper, the Daily 49er, including time as managing editor and sports editor.
He covered sports such as men's and women's basketball, men's and women's volleyball, women's soccer and softball. On the side, McDannald also developed an eye for breaking news, copy editing and sports photography, when necessary.
McDannald transferred from Long Beach City College, where he served time as, but not limited to, editor in chief and sports editor for the campus newspaper, the Viking.
He primarily covered football, men's basketball and women's soccer at LBCC, but also wrote in-depth news coverage on a series of stories related to censorship of the school's student-run broadcast news production.
Raised in a military family and born in the Philippines, McDannald bounced around Southern California and spent two years in St. Louis, Mo., before his family made a final move to Carson, Calif., where he lived for 16 years prior to relocating to Tucson.

Matt Moreno, Senior Recruiting Editor
Matt Moreno is the Senior Recruiting Editor at GOAZCATS.com. He joined the staff in August 2011.
Moreno, 25, graduated with a bachelor's degree in journalism in December 2010 from Long Beach State University. He began his stint at the Daily 49er as a contributing writer in December 2008, eventually becoming sports editor in June 2010. During this time he served as a beat reporter for men's basketball and baseball. Along with writing features and columns, Moreno specialized in creating sports-section graphics for the print and online editions of the publication.
Prior to arriving at Long Beach, Moreno served as a staff writer and later as sports editor of the Golden West College campus publication, the Western Sun, where he was primarily a football beat reporter but also juggled various sports.
Born and raised in Southern California, Moreno has resided in Orange County, Calif., for the entirety of his life.
