Four-star QB has interest in ‘Cats
It's no secret how important the quarterback position is in Arizona head coach Rich Rodriguez' offensive scheme. If you need an example, look no further than former West Virginia standout Pat White or current Michigan signal caller Denard Robinson. The first-year head coach knows how significant the position is, and that caused him to make a call to four-star, dual-threat prospect Devin Fuller of Old Tappan (N.J.) High this week to make an offer.
Fuller's offer list looks like a who's who of college football programs, but not every school on that list is interested in the 6-foot athlete prospect at quarterback. The Wildcats are, however, and that is why the nation's 34th-ranked prospect said Rodriguez' squad has his attention right now.

"It's Rich Rodriguez taking over the job and he's a very good coach, so it was a good offer," Fuller said.
Even though there are only a couple months until signing day, Fuller said the 'Cats jumping into his recruitment this late doesn't affect his standing with them.
"I think they could do pretty good, actually," Fuller said. "That offense is what I was made for and that's what I really like. I feel like they're recruiting me because they have a pretty good chance of getting me. It's just if I really like the school, then that's really what it is."
Fuller will take a trip to TCU this weekend, but he said Tucson "might be" a place he will visit now that UA has entered the picture since Rodriguez has taken over. Nebraska, Rutgers and UCLA are some other programs that the 'Cats will have to compete with for a commitment form the four-star prospect. Fuller has already visited Lincoln and had an in-home visit with the Cornhuskers this week.
Fuller said that his strengths lie in his decision making, while his "technique and form" could use improvement.
The two-way high school standout led his team in both passing and rushing touchdowns this season. Fuller finished the 2011 campaign with 2,145 yards passing and 20 touchdowns through the air. Meanwhile he ran for 1,156 yards and 17 touchdowns on the ground for Old Tappan this year.
Although he had an interception return for a touchdown this year, and has been a standout safety for Old Tappan, Fuller said his aspiration is to be a quarterback at the next level.
"I want to play quarterback, and there's no doubt about it," he said. "And all the schools know that I want to play quarterback, so all the schools that are in the running are quarterback schools."
Fuller said at this point it's looking like a decision won't be made until at least the start of next year.
He said, "At the beginning of January I'll probably really decide what I want to do."
