UPDATE 9/12/05: Eugene's family continues to struggle through very tough and traumatic times. They are in need of affordable housing in the Houston area. If you are aware of any affordable housing in this area, please contact us. Thus far we have raised a little over $2,000 BUT THIS FAMILY NEEDS MORE HELP FROM US! Remember, they have absolutely nothing.

They still haven't found Suzan's oldest brother Gregory who is Eugene's godfather; he is 52. Also Gene has two brothers, Chad 23 and Garrett 15 wear size 15 tennis shoes and Suzan is having trouble finding shoes to fit them. They both wear 3XL T-Shirts and have 44 inch waists.
Former University of Arizona basketball player, Mr. Hustle, Most Inspirational, and fan favorite Eugene Edgerson has been directly effected by the recent events surrounding Hurricane Katrina and the devastation that has taken place in the Gulf states.
He has recently received word that his grandmother, mother, two brothers and sister have made it safely to Houston and are currently staying with his uncle and aunt and their three kids.
Though his family has made it to Houston safely, they have absolutely nothing left. Their neighborhood, the 7th Ward of Orleans Parish has been completely destroyed. His mother, a New Orleans social worker, is now solely responsible for restarting the family's life from scratch.
The Edgerson family and the people within their neighborhood of the 7th Ward need your help.

Since the family and their neighborhood has absolutely nothing left, they are also in need of items to start their lives completely over. Items ranging from clothing, toiletries, and any other items that may help establish their new lives. Gift certificates to places like Target, WalMart, or other general stores would be very useful as well and can be mailed to the address below.
