Cormier makes the call, will be a Wildcat

One day after returning home to San Diego from a trip to Arizona, three-star running back prospect Pierre Cormier announced his commitment to the Wildcats Wednesday.
The San Diego (Calif.) Madison standout visited Tucson earlier this week with two of his teammates - one of which decided to give the 'Cats his verbal pledge Tuesday.

Athlete recruit Lee Walker gave the program his commitment prior to leaving UA, and Cormier followed suit a day later.
Cormier told GOAZCATS.com Tuesday that he wasn't surprised to see his teammate commit as it was a program he liked as well.
"I could see why he (Walker) did it, because I liked it too," Cormier said. "I think it was a good decision for him, and I actually would have been more surprised if he didn't [commit]."
The nation's 36th-ranked running back prospect had a chance to watch the Wildcats practice Monday evening, and he paid close attention to his future teammates.
"I watched them a lot," he said. "They do some good stuff, and I feel like my role would be running the zone plays and catching the ball out of the backfield and stuff like that. So that's what I was kind of picturing myself doing while I was there."
One of the bigger factors throughout Cormier's recruitment has been his fit into his next school's offensive scheme. The rising senior plays in an offense very similar to that of the Wildcats, so that likely played a big part in his decision.
"It was good, I was able to see the whole college and all the facilities," he said. "I was able to picture myself in the offense, and it's the same thing I'm doing now so it was pretty easy to do that.
Cormier is the Wildcats second commit this week - along with Walker - and the 24th overall. He is also the fourth straight UA commit to come from San Diego to go along with Walker, Jacob Alsadek and Derek Babiash.
Co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Rod Smith is the Wildcats' primary recruiter in the San Diego area.
Cormier chose the Wildcats over offers from UCLA, Boise State, Nebraska, Purdue and Vanderbilt among others.
