The "Voice of the Wildcats", Brian Jeffries, stopped by the Hall of Champions in McKale Center to talk with GOAZCATS.com about everything basketball dating from 1985 until now.

Jeffries moved to Tucson in 1980 to work for KMGX radio. He was the sideline reporter for Arizona football and was the pre-game host for the Wildcats basketball team. Soon enough, he took over play-by-play for baseball and was an analyst for basketball in 1985 and 1986.

1987 was when all the full-time fun began. Jeffries was the Wildcats' play-by-play broadcaster for baseball, football and basketball.

Since then, Jeffries has broadcasted more than 1,500 events for the Arizona Wildcats. Not to mention, he has coaches shows for both radio and TV.

He has taken the honor in being able to say, "The Arizona Wildcats are National Champions" three times in his career. In 1986, the 'Cats won the NCAA Division I college baseball championship. Next came the 1997 NCAA men's Division I basketball championship, and just recently in 2012 was another championship for the Bat 'Cats.

He's experienced the low points of Arizona Athletics, and the high points. Though, through good times or bad, one thing that can't be questioned is his passion for his job and the Wildcat community.

On Oct. 18, 2012, Jeffries was inducted into the Arizona Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame. He is the second play-by-play broadcaster to be inducted. Al McCoy, the "Voice of the Suns" for 40 years, was the first.

Jeffries isn't ready to give up this gig anytime soon. As he told GOAZCATS.com, "I would love to keep going as long as I can, I want somebody to tell me when I can't do it anymore."
