Maybe some new threads will change Arizona's luck this week? The Wildcats (0-3) will debut a new uniform combination this Saturday when they host Colorado (3-0) after unveiling what is being dubbed the "Battle Gray" uniform, Thursday evening.
Arizona released a video promoting the new look that will be worn this weekend to honor the military on UA's Military Appreciate Night at Arizona Stadium. The uniform, both the jersey and pants, is battleship gray in color with navy blue and cardinal accents on the shoulders mocking the team's current uniforms.. The numbers on the front and back of the jerseys plus the names on the back of the jerseys will be navy blue with white piping outlining the numbers.
The Wildcats will wear matte navy blue helmets with Block A logo stickers on either side plus a sticker acknowledging Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson.
Arizona's NIKE uniforms have not gone through significant changes in several years, but the program has honored the military with special uniforms in the past in addition to honoring the Desert Swarm era last year with throwback uniforms in a game against Oregon State.
The last time UA debuted military-themed uniforms was back in the 2016 season when the Wildcats hosted Hawaii early in the season as a way to remember the attack on Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona. That uniform was also gray, but featured red pants and a 1941-inspired Block A logo decal on the helmets.
The Wildcats are looking to break a 10-game winning streak when they host the Buffaloes this weekend at Arizona Stadium. Kickoff for Saturday's game is set for 5 p.m. MST.
