Arizona still sitting well with Jackson-Cartwright

Parker Jackson-Cartwright has become one of the more prominent Arizona targets for the class of 2014 and on Tuesday Wildcats head coach Sean Miller stopped by to see the Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola standout.

"Coach Miller stopped by today," he told GOAZCATS.com. "We talked a little bit at lunch and that's pretty much it."
The four-star point guard visited UA last month and the Wildcats remain a factor in his recruitment.
"We're just talking about moving forward and what they want to see from me this year," Jackson-Cartwright said. "Their view hasn't changed on me, but I want to see more of the school and that's why I'm excited to get back up there for Red-Blue then we'll see where it goes."
The junior said as far as schools go it remains relatively the same with those pursuing him the hardest with UCLA and North Carolina State being among that group - along with the Wildcats.
Miller and his staff making the trip out to Loyola so early in the week was something that Jackson-Cartwright certainly noticed and appreciated.
"It means a lot," he said. "They've shown their commitment to me and my family way before they even came today, but this just adds to it. I know where they stand and what their commitment is to me so it's good."
One aspect of Jackson-Cartwright's game that has attracted attention is his ability to make those playing around him better and his ability to put his teammates in the best position to score when he runs the point. That's something the nation's 37th-ranked prospect really tries hard at and it's a big part of what he feels makes him the player he has become.
"It means a lot that other people give me that reward and they like playing with me," he said. "It makes me feel great, because at the end of the day I just want to be a great teammate and have the ability to play with great players and have them feel strongly about me.
"So that's really something I want, to know that happiness that people like playing with me."
Many of the schools recruiting Jackson-Cartwright the hardest had big-time recruiting classes in 2012 and are looking to do the same in 2013. With that in mind Jackson-Cartwright would like to keep up his style of play of making his teammates better at the next level.
"I feel like the better I play and the more people see I like dishing the ball out, more players are going to want to play with me and that's a great feeling," he said. "If I get to go UCLA or Arizona with the great recruiting classes they will have for the upcoming years it will be great to play with some of those other players."
While much of the discussion around his recruitment is about a few different schools - UA and UCLA being among them - Jackson-Cartwright stresses that he's still wide open when it comes to his college choices.
"I'm wide open right now but those are the main schools (UA, UCLA and NC State) that have shown they really want me," he said. "But there's a bunch of other schools too."
At this point in the process he isn't in a rush to make a decision, but that's not to say he will hold off on making his choice for an extended period of time. As things stand now Jackson-Cartwright simply doesn't know when his decision could come.
"I don't know when I'll make a decision," he said. "It could be next month, next week or next year. It just depends on how I feel and where I end up going."
The talented point guard will be making a return trip to Tucson for the Red-Blue game in October which is shaping up to be a big weekend for the 'Cats on the recruiting front.
