This offseason the Arizona coaching staff has been busy loading up on 2022 prospects with 13 players committed in the class leading up to this week.

Arizona coach Jordan Paopao landed a commitment from three-star tight end Tyler Powell for the 2022 class on Friday morning after already previously landing four-star tight end Keyan Burnett earlier this month.

"If you told me four years ago that I would not only be playing football, but playing football in college, I eon't think I would have believed you," Powell wrote in a post on Twitter announcing his decision. "It has been amazing journey that's come with a lot of hard work and sacrifice, but I wouldn't change a thing."

Powell is a 6-foot-6, 205-pound recruit from Brophy Prep in Phoenix. He picked Arizona over offers from Arizona State, Auburn, UCLA and Florida State among others. The new UA commit is a multi-sport athlete at Brophy as he also plays baseball as well.

The Wildcats are moving to a system under new head coach Jedd Fisch that will utilize the tight end position often, including the use of two tight ends on the field at the same time, making the addition of Powell and important one for UA.

He has the versatility to be used in the passing game, but his size will make him an ideal blocker at tight end in college as well.

The Wildcats will lose their top tight end after this season as Bryce Wolma is entering his senior season. Arizona's other top tight end, Stacey Marshall, is entering the fourth year of his career.

Arizona now has 14 commits for the 2022 class after Powell's decision Friday. The class is now evenly split between offensive and defensive recruits. The Wildcats currently sit at No. 41 overall in the Rivals.com team recruiting rankings for 2022 pushing UA ahead of Washington on the list.

The class now ranks fourth in the Pac-12 after Powell's commitment with Oregon, USC and Stanford ahead of the Wildcats.
