Arizona fifth-year senior left tackle Jordan Morgan announced on his Instagram Friday afternoon that he will opt out of the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 28 to prepare for the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Tucson native is expected to be the first Wildcat offensive lineman drafted since Eben Britton was drafted to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2009.

Morgan is projected to be the 31st pick in the first round of the upcoming NFL draft, according to CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards’ mock draft.

“Ever since I was a kid growing up in Tucson, I wanted to play for the University of Arizona,” Morgan said in his announcement on Instagram. “To fulfill that dream and play in front of my family, friends and amazing fans has been a blessing.”

Morgan also said in his post “Playing in the NFL has been a lifelong dream of mine and it’s time to go chase it.”
