2013 commit still likes UA despite new offer
Menifee (Calif.) Heritage defensive back Darius Allensworth only held one offer at the time he committed to Arizona less than two weeks ago, but that changed when UCLA extended an offer to the 5-foot-11 prospect Tuesday.
Although he is committed to the 'Cats there was always the possibility that programs were going to continue to recruit the defensive back prospect. At this point the Wildcat commit is remaining solid in his pledge to Rich Rodriguez's program, but the offer from the Bruins is something he will talk over with his family.

"I'm excited about it, UCLA's a good school with good academics and it's something to look at," Allensworth said. "I like the U of A and I like Arizona a lot, and I'm just going to talk it over with my family and see what happens in the future."
The Bruins offer came as a little bit of a surprise as he had mostly been talking to Colorado and BYU before making his commitment to the Wildcats.
Allensworth has the ability to play on either side of the ball, but the Wildcats are likely going to have him play on the defense as a cornerback. The Bruins offer came with with a similar idea in mind.
"UCLA said pretty much the same thing Arizona said," the junior standout said. "They want to give me the scholarship offer as an athlete, but UCLA said I have a great chance at playing both. I can play receiver for [defensive back], but they like me more at receiver.
"It really doesn't matter to me, because I like both positions."
Much like he did when he visited Tucson, Allensworth said if he does get to the point where he wants to take a closer look at UCLA he will look at the same criteria that has before.
"I would just have to look at if it had a great football feel, great academics and if it's a place I want to spend the next four or five years of my life," he said.
Allensworth has already visited UCLA's campus earlier this spring prior to committing to UA, so at this point he knows fairly well what the Bruins would offer from a football standpoint.
As will happen even after a recruit commits to a program there are still schools who have continued to express interest in the Wildcat pledge.
"Stanford is interested now, and Washington is interested now, too." Allensworth said.
Although he's already committed to UA, the cornerback prospect said that he views his new offer and interest as a good thing.
"I think it's a positive, because it shows that I'm doing the right things," he said.
Allensworth said at this point UA fans shouldn't have to worry about a de-commitment, because he still has to talk things over with his family.
"It's still early on, so they shouldn't have to worry," he said. "Like I said, I like the U of A a lot and I still have to talk to my family about it."
