National Champions
Arizona has won its seventh national championship in softball thanks to a 5-0 victory over Northwestern on Tuesday night. Arizona finishes the season 51-14 and took two in a row in the championship series over Northwestern, who finishes up at 50-15.

The national championship for Arizona gives the school seven since 1991, which is the most any team has achieved in that time period. UCLA is second with four.
It also marks the end of an outstanding career for senior Alicia Hollowell, one of the top pitchers in NCAA history. Hollowell was virtually flawless in Oklahoma and Northwestern didn't score a run on her in two games.
The Wildcats of Arizona defeated Northwestern's Wildcats 8-0 on Monday, setting up Tuesday's championship.
Arizona got off to a quick start in the title game. The UA scored its first run when Caitlin Lowe scored after Callista Balko grounded out to second with one out.
The Arizona Wildcats added two more in the fifth because of RBI singles by Autumn Champion, scoring Lowe. Two batters later, Balko doubled to center bringing in Champion, which gave the Wildcats a 3-0 lead.
Arizona had more success in the bottom of the sixth, with runs by Danielle Rodriguez and Laine Roth.
Hallowell finished things off for the Wildcats in the seventh and final inning. She struck out the first batter, Ashley Crane, setting out the World Series strike out record.
Darcy Sengewald was up next and popped up to second. Katie Logan, Tammie Williams and Garland Cooper singled in Northwestern's next three at bats, adding a little bit of suspense before the final out.
The bases were loaded with two outs when Jamie Dotson came to the plate. With the count 3-2, Dotson struck out looking, giving Arizona the national championship.
