Sometimes a class will come together quickly and the end of the cycle is about putting the finishing touches. That is exactly where Arizona is at right now with 26 commitments already part of its 2017 class. Still, after parting ways with a defensive lineman earlier in the fall the Wildcats know there is more work to be done.

Enter junior college prospect Sione Taufahema. The College of the Canyons (Santa Clarita, California) standout is starting to see his stock rise after his second season at the JUCO level and he picked up his biggest offer yet on Monday. That is when Arizona came through after taking some time to see him in person.

The Wildcats have had an eye on the 6-foot-3 nose tackle for a little while now and in recent weeks he has been building a relationship with UA defensive line coach Vince Amey. It culminated in the offer Monday and now the California-based prospect is already set to take a visit out to Tucson this weekend.

Taufahema is a December grad, so things will have to move quickly but his offer from the Wildcats is a big one that could lead to an early commitment if things go well on his visit.

"I was contacted by the recruiting coordinator Chris Singletary about two weeks ago through Twitter," he said. "And he got me in contact with coach Amey and we've just been talking and have talked on the phone a couple times. He came to see me (Monday) morning and extended the offer to me."
