One prospect who isn't so sure what Arizona's hiring of Rich Rodriguez means for his future is three-star pro-style quarterback commit Nathan Sudfeld. The 6-foot-5 recruit threw for 29 touchdowns this season at Modesto (Calif.) Modesto Christian and surprised himself with a 40-yard rushing touchdown in his team's last game of the season.
Needless to say, those stats don't exactly coincide with the traditional spread-option quarterback that Rodriguez used at Michigan and West Virginia, and that has Sufeld somewhat concerned.

"I think he's a great coach, and I'm excited for the school," Sudfeld said. "I'm a little hesitant just from looking at his past and the past type of offenses he runs, they've been prolific but maybe more for a Denard Robinson or Pat White-type quarterback than me as a drop-back passer.
"So I look forward to talking with him and seeing where he sees me at, but I'm a little hesitant wondering if I'm going to be the type of guy he's looking for."
Sudfeld has built a good relationship with current Wildcats quarterbacks coach Frank Scelfo, and he said it would play into his decision should Scelfo stay on with Rodriguez.
"I think it would affect [my recruitment]," he said. "I love coach Scelfo and I wonder if he'll keep him. If he does, I'll definitely take a good look at Arizona, but I'm still going to see where I fit in and if I'm the type of quarterback that they're looking for."
Sudfeld said having the assurance from athletic director Greg Byrne that his commitment is safe with the Wildcats is comforting, but he is still going to remain open to other options.
"I don't want to have them be tied down because the athletic director said they had to honor my scholarship," Sudfeld said. "If they're looking for a different type of quarterback, then I also don't want to tie them down and have me on the roster.
"I want to go there if they want me to be there, and if I'm the type of quarterback they want. But I also don't want to put a square peg into a round hole."
At this point, Sudfeld's plan is to use a visit to Tucson to meet with Rodriguez and see how he will factor into the new head coach's plans. In the meantime, he will see what else is out there as he has been receiving calls from numerous other programs. Sudfeld will unofficially visit this weekend's UCLA-USC game, but he said he is still working on planning his other visits and expects to have something more concrete soon.
