Rivals250 quarterback gives verbal pledge to Cats

One of the most important positions in Rich Rodriguez's offense is the quarterback, and with Matt Scott playing his last season in an Arizona uniform the Wildcats were in need of a talented 2013 prospect to build around for the future.
Sunday four-star dual-threat signal caller Anu Solomon made the call and gave Rodriguez and the 'Cats his verbal pledge.

"Ever since I visited Arizona I felt like it was a great place," the Rivals250 recruit said. "As time went on I started to pray about it and I felt that it was a great fit for me, and I felt like right now was the right time to make a commitment.
"I feel comfortable with it and I feel great."
As a junior Solomon, who is ranked as the 132nd-best player in the nation by Rivals.com, passed for 3,059 yards and 43 touchdowns to only three interceptions. He also rushed for 402 yards and six touchdowns for Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman.
Because of his ability to both pass the ball very well and make plays on the run, Solomon felt the fit was right at UA.
"It's the perfect fit," he said. "I'm a quarterback who likes to throw a lot and I'm a pass first, run second kind of guy. I feel like Rich Rodriguez and the offense can be that kind of thing for me.
"In his history Rich Rodriguez has shown he can turn quarterbacks into great players."
Solomon gives the Wildcats their sixth commitment of the 2013 class and he joins offensive lineman Logan Stott as the program's second four-star recruit of the class. He also became the fourth four-star prospect to commit to UA during Rodriguez's short tenure as head coach.
The fifth-ranked dual-threat prospect in the country also had offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Illinois, UCLA and UNLV.
