Corona (Calif.) Centennial has become a real powerhouse of a program in the high school ranks and it has churned out numerous high level recruits in the process. At Arizona that has meant players like Matt Scott as well as incoming freshmen JJ Taylor and Chacho Ulloa.

Top-30 receiver Tyjon Lindsey is the name everyone looks to on this year’s roster at Centennial, but there are other notable recruits who are already getting some looks as well.

Running back Miles Reed is among that group and the 5-foot-9 prospect is starting to gain some more attention this spring. Reed is still waiting on his first FBS offer at this stage, but there are plenty of programs showing interest. He named Ivy League programs such as Yale and Harvard as showing interest but other schools such as Nebraska, Nevada, UNLV and San Diego State have been in pursuit as well.

“Nebraska is probably one I most like because as of now they only have three running backs and they haven’t really signed any,” he said. “We all know Nebraska’s history of running the football, so I’m really looking into that. And of course Harvard I’m really looking into that education. It’s a great education and a great school.”

There have been some preliminary discussions with Arizona and other programs as well and Friday’s 11-on-11 jamboree at Cathedral High School in Los Angeles is expected to have a number of coaches on hand as well. That will give Reed another chance to make an impression as his Centennial squad goes to work.

“I’m just waiting on my senior season,” he said of the spring. “As a running back seven-on doesn’t really display all of my talents, because especially I’m more of a power runner. I’m just waiting for an opportunity especially with this 11-on-11 game we have coming up. I can display a little more of my speed, my hips and my hands.”

NAU and San Diego State are two programs that continue to be close to offering Reed at this stage and he plans to see SDSU soon. The running back recruit has already visited USC and UCLA and he plans to Nebraska as well this summer.
