Hassan Adams drafted by New Jersey Nets
Former Arizona small forward Hassan Adams fell a little further than was expected in the 2006 NBA Draft but he finally was selected. Adams was taken by the New Jersey Nets with the 54th selection of the draft.

In New Jersey, should Adams make the team, he'll join a roster that already features ex-Wildcats star small forward Richard Jefferson along with All-Star wing Vince Carter.
Adams, who was considered a fringe first round pick going into the draft, slipped considerably. However, he's going to a place that fits him well.
"I think it's a very good selection for New Jersey and I think it's a very good spot for Hassan," said UA assistant Josh Pastner. "I think Hassan will fit in very well there.
"They have a lot of tremendous talent and they have a great point guard in Jason Kidd and a fantastic backup in Marcus Williams. You know Hassan is going to get the ball and make things happen. I think it's all going to work out for him."
Adams was New Jersey's third selection of the draft. In the first round, they picked Williams and Josh Boone of Connecticut.
Because he's a second round pick, Adams won't have a guaranteed contract. However, he is going to play in an offense that fits his strengths and will live close by to two Wildcats in Jefferson and ex-teammate Channing Frye.
The other two UA seniors, Chris Rodgers and Isaiah Fox, went undrafted.
