Arizona landed a commitment from Las Vegas (Nev.) Desert Pines offensive lineman Edgar Burrola on Wednesday afternoon. The 6-foot-6 prospect camped with the Wildcats over the weekend and picked up an offer from UA before the day was over Sunday. He then moved quickly on coming to a decision announcing his choice on Twitter Wednesday.

He is the second recruit from Desert Pines to commit to Arizona in the last month. Jahmile Addae is the Wildcats' new recruiter in that area and last month the program pulled in a commitment from three-star linebacker Tony Fields from Desert Pines. Former Wildcat David Hill is on staff at Desert Pines, but it is not just that connection that led to Burrola's decision to pull the trigger early on a pledge.

"Well they have always showed me love and have always shown interest in me," Burrola said of the Wildcats. "My coach used to go there and he's an alumni, so that wrapped up the decision to go to Arizona. ... I felt like it was the place for me to be, and I felt like it was the best option even if there were other schools.

"I felt like this is what I wanted to do no matter what schools offered me."

Burrola said at this stage of the process nothing has been decided about what position he will play in the future with offensive guard and offensive tackle being the two spots he could end up at when he arrives to Arizona.

Arizona has put together strong recruiting classes in the last couple cycles along the offensive line and Burrola hopes to be the start of another one in 2017. He is Arizona's 11th commitment of the class and the second in the last few days after Tucson-based athlete recruit Drew Dixon ended his recruitment on Sunday with a pledge to the hometown Wildcats.

UA's current 2017 class ranks 16th in the Rivals.com team recruiting rankings.
