Arizona Cactus Classic Preview: Pool C

The third annual Arizona Cactus Classic tips off on Friday, May 9, and the tournament pools have been released. Throughout the week, we'll break down all the pools and teams, giving a comprehensive look at what to expect at this year's tournament.

The winner of the 2008 Boo Williams Invitational, this is one of the top AAU squads in the country year in and year out.
Boo Williams is led by 6-foot-8 center Deshawn Painter, who is ranked 22nd in the 2009 class by Rivals.com. The 3rd ranked center's offers include Clemson, Florida, Louisville, N.C. State, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
At small forward will be 6-foot-6 Tristan Spurlock, ranked 27th in 2009 by Rivals.com. Among the schools he holds offers from are Florida State, Georgetown, Maryland and Virginia.
Yet another Top 30 prospect resides on Boo Williams, this one being 6-foot-6 small forward Marshawn Powell, who comes in at #29.
Talented shooting guard Donte Hill is ranked 85th in 2009 by Rivals.com. The 6-foot-4 athlete has offers from Marquette and Virginia Tech, among others.
2010 North Carolina commit Kendall Marshall is one of the stars of Boo Williams. He's ranked 9th in his class.
6-foot-5 2010 shooting guard Andre Dawkins has offers from Clemson, Maryland, Virginia Tech and Old Dominion.

Notes:
2009 small forward Solomon Hill is one of the emerging prospects on the West Coast. He holds offers from UNLV, San Diego State and San Francisco.
The #1 player in the 2010 class is center Jeremy Tyler, who will join California Supreme this weekend and play in his third straight Arizona Cactus Classic. Arizona, UCLA and USC are all vying for his commitment.
2010 point guard Gary Franklin had an impressive Cactus Classic last year and is one of the top West Coast guard prospects in his class.
2011 shooting guard Nick Johnson already holds an offer from Arizona State.

Notes:
Making his return to the Arizona Cactus Classic after playing in the inaugural event in 2006 is Renardo Sidney, a 6-foot-10, 230-pound power forward from Los Angeles Fairfax, that is ranked #1 in the 2009 class. UCLA, USC and Arizona State are the main schools in contention for the star recruit.

Extremely well-coached, Utah Pump N'Run is always one of the toughest outs in the Arizona Cactus Classic.
6-foot-8 post forward Brandon Davies is a fundamentally sound post player who is bound to get some recruiting attention.
