Arizona adds another big athlete for 2018

Outside of the offensive and defensive lines, one of Arizona's most pressing needs for the 2018 class remains the receiver group. The Wildcats want to add some more size to the unit heading into next year and after a recent commitment from Texas-based standout Tre Adams the program added yet another tall prospect to the group Friday night.

Before his team's game San Diego High do-everything man Thomas Marcus announced his commitment to the Pac-12 program just a little over a week after adding his offer from Rich Rodriguez's staff.

"Coach Rodriguez he called me and made it known that that I was gonna come in and play," Marcus said. "So me and my family decided that was the best fit."

The 6-foot-4 versatile athlete has done a lot over his high school career throwing passes, catching passes, running the ball and playing defense for his team. He projects as a receiver, however, adding some much needed height to the group for next year.

Marcus chose UA over Utah State and senior film has helped the dual-sport athlete pop up on some more radars. The new UA pledge spent his summer with the Oakland Soldiers on the Nike EYBL circuit playing hoops and had some basketball offers on the table as well.

He will instead play football and he is now Arizona's 13th commit of the 2018 class. This season Marcus has 13 catches for 302 yards and seven touchdowns to go with 11 carries for 128 yards and another score on the ground. Last year he had 19 passing touchdowns and 1,269 passing yards.
