Arizona lands Boston College transfer Anderson

Ryan Anderson did not wait long to pull the trigger after Thursday's visit to Arizona.

After considering both Iowa State and Indiana, the Boston College transfer decided that Sean Miller's program in Tucson was the right fit for him.

Anderson, a 6-9, 216-pound forward, confirmed his decision via text message to GOAZCATS.com, and announced his move shortly after on Twitter. The Arizona Daily Star was the first to report the decision.

Anderson must sit out a year, per NCAA transfer rules, but the year off also will allow him to recover from right shoulder surgery performed last month.

During the process, the Lakewood, Calif., native told GOAZCATS.com that "a better chance to win, be a part of the NCAA tournament," were his top priorities. BC finished 8-24 and lost in the first round of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament last season.

The Wildcats finished a victory shy of reaching the Final Four, posting 33 victories in the process - the second-highest single-season win total in school history.

Anderson averaged 14.3 points on 48.9 percent shooting and pulled down 7.3 rebounds as a junior.
