Wildcats drop in major polls

Voters in the Associated Press Top 25 poll had some thinking to do for this week's rankings. All three unbeaten teams in college basketball were knocked off, leaving the question: Who's No. 1?

For Duke, Michigan and Arizona - ranked 1, 2 and 4, respectively, last week - the question was: How low will they go, if they drop at all?

As many as five teams earned a first-place vote in a divided poll, but Louisville took the top spot after earning 36 of the 65 votes for No. 1.

As for the Wildcats, who lost at Oregon, voters placed them as high as fifth and as low as 11th and the verdict was a three-spot drop to No. 7. The Blue Devils checked in at No. 3 while the Wolverines slipped to No. 5.

Rounding out the top five were No. 2 Indiana and No. 4 Kansas, both of which moved up from the previous week.

Around the Pac-12 Conference, Oregon (No. 21) and UCLA (No. 24) both broke into the rankings this week.

The coaches' poll also ranked Arizona seventh.
