Westchester Tip-Off Classic Final

Los Angeles (Calif.) Westchester won its own Tip-Off Classic 71 to 62 over the Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft last night. Jordin Mayes, the Comet's fine Point guard, was our MVP of the game for Westchester while DeAndre Daniels was our MVP for the Taft squad.

Mayes was great in the final game, scoring 24 points on 7 for 15 shooting and getting 5 assists and shooting 8 for 9 from the free throw line. Mayes is a strong, quick and skilled point guard who surely impressed UCLA coaches Donny Daniels and Scott Duncan, who were in attendance. He has a solid handle and can dribble through double teams without trouble.

Daniels was really impressive as well, scoring 29 points while shooting 12 for 21 and getting 16 boards. Daniels is a long 6'8 junior who has committed to Texas.
