The second and last "live" evaluation weekend of the spring is beginning to wind down, but not before the various coaching staffs throughout the country take in the last few games of the weekend.
Plenty of Arizona targets continued Nike EYBL action Saturday, a day in which most teams played two games - one in the morning and one in the evening. There were several who continued to have big games, so here's a look at how some of the Wildcat targets performed Saturday.
Houston Hoops: The talented team featuring a few UA recruits suffered two losses Saturday by a combined total of three points. 2013 target Keith Frazier had a solid day overall, but it wasn't enough take down Indy Spiece (75-73) or Team Takeover (65-64). On the day Frazier scored 17 points in his team's first game and nine points in the second game. He also finished the second day of action with 13 rebounds and five assists.
Fellow 2013 recruit Brian Bridgewater had a good morning session with 13 points, four rebounds and two blocks. Bridgewater scored four points and pulled down two boards in against Team Takeover. 2014 target Justise Winslow used a decent early performance to help him in the team's second game.
The five-star prospect scored 12 points, dished out four assists and collected two rebounds in Houston Hoops' loss to Team Takeover.
Oakland Soldiers: After a narrow two-point win over the Jackson Tigers, the Oakland Soldiers fell for the first time this spring in the evening session. Without their biggest impact player in Aaron Gordon, the Soldiers have tried different lineups. But even with solid performances by Wildcat targets Jabari Bird and Stanley Johnson, the Soldiers fell to the New Jersey Playaz, 76-70, Saturday night.
Bird finished the contest with 18 points, five rebounds and two assists, but it was his younger teammate who led the way. 2014 prospect Johnson scored a team-high 21 points as well as nine rebounds in the loss.
Fellow 2014 target Shaqquan Aaron pitched in with 12 points, one rebound and an assist in the loss.
California Supreme: Miles Simon's squad has continued to roll through the first two EYBL stops, and Cal Supreme kept it going Saturday. After winning earlier in the day, the talented squad featuring point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright and big man Marcus Lee made easy work of Team Final in the evening session 79-55.
In that contest Jackson-Cartwright scored four points and dished out five assists. Meanwhile 2013 target Lee scored nine points and pulled down seven rebounds for Cal Supreme.
Mac Irvin Fire: 2014 five-star center Jahlil Okafor had a fairly solid game Saturday night when his team knocked off Emanuel Mudiay and Texas Pro, 75-62. The sophomore finished the contest with 11 points and six rebounds to go along with two blocks for the Mac Irvin Fire.
Meanstreets: After not scoring any points in his team's morning game, Paul White did a little better on the offensive end in Meanstreets' night cap. The 2014 wing prospect from Chicago (Ill.) Whitney Young scored four points and three rebounds in a 55-40 win over Albany City Rocks (New York).
The EYBL's second stop in Hampton, Va., will wrap up action Sunday.
